Christ the King Regional School was honored to have Most Reverend Joseph A. Williams Coadjutor Bishop of Camden present last Sunday to launch Catholic Schools Week.
Parishioners, students, and their families joined for this special occasion, including an open house to highlight the school’s educational mission and Catholic identity.
Celebrating alongside Father Jon Thomas, pastor of Christ the King Parish, Bishop Williams expressed gratitude to the families in attendance for choosing Catholic education for their children. He also reminded parents of their vital role as the first teachers of faith in their children’s lives.
After Mass, Bishop Williams warmly greeted parishioners and students outside the church before heading across the street to the school. During his visit, he enjoyed breakfast treats, toured the facilities, and connected with teachers and school families.
Our school is home to 321 students from preschool to grade 8. CKRS follows a comprehensive academic curriculum designed, developed, and delivered in partnership with Notre Dame University that meets or exceeds all NJ core curriculum standards. We have an active and engaged school community of students, parents, alumni, parishioners, benefactors, faculty, staff, and administrators marked by a culture of generosity in sharing our time, talents, and treasure. Our shared purpose binds us together to be a school where Faith and Knowledge meet. Long-time parishioner, parent of two CKRS alumni, and faculty member of 29 years, Kathleen Dunn, expressed her gratitude to be a part of a community of educators who develop the whole child. Emphasizing, “We empower our young students to have confidence in who they are as sons and daughters of Christ, which enables them to serve God by serving others.”
