Parishioners gathering together for a candlelit evening of prayers for others.
The Rosary Ministry held its first-ever outdoor Rosary on May 13. Though heavy rain forced us indoors, the spirit of the evening remained undimmed. Nearly 50 parishioners gathered in Morgan Hall for a prayerful evening. The ministry is especially grateful for the guidance of Dolores Mozzillo, Director of Religious Education, and Father Jon’s active participation, who helped make the night one of peace, calm, and shared faith.
“In the beginning, God said, ‘Let there be light,’” and we honored that with candles lit in an otherwise darkened hall. Surrounded by flickering flames, we formed a circle of light, offered our intentions, and prayed the Luminous Mysteries. After each mystery, we reflected on an apparition of Mary—moments when she came to Earth bearing messages from God.
The music ministry, led by Abigail Walsh and Theresa-Rose Woodward, added depth to our prayer with their angelic voices, guiding us in songs and chants to Our Lady and the Saints.
For me, devotion to pray the rosary began at early age. It was a gift learned from my parents and nourished by God’s grace. Over time, it has become a meaningful relationship with both Mary and Jesus. And I am grateful to share it with my family and friends.
Mary calls us to pray the Rosary daily—a practice that takes about twenty minutes. As good stewards of our time, we want to gratefully give a portion of it back to God in prayer—for all He has given us. With intention, we often find that prayer fits more easily into our lives than we expect. Its impact is profound, bringing strength, clarity, and peace.
The mission of our ministry is simple but powerful: to pray for others, to pray with others, and to inspire a devotion to the Blessed Mother. If you missed this beautiful evening, mark your calendar for our next outdoor Rosary on Tuesday, October 7—rain or shine.
The Rosary Ministry currently has ten members, and we warmly invite you to join us at our next meeting on Thursday, June 5, at 10:00 AM in the parish center.
