Lucy in her mostly comfortable Camden Catholic HS uniform!
I love wearing my school uniform every day. Well, that is not quite the truth. The skirt can be uncomfortable, and the sweater never seems to keep me warm enough. But I love what the uniform represents. It represents my opportunity to receive a Catholic education.
I have attended parochial schools since the age of four. It is a fundamental part of who I am and how I interact with my surroundings. My teachers have taught me more than just mathematics, science, and English. They have prepared me to become an engaged member of society, someone who can both effectively voice my opinions and listen to others’ perspectives. All of my educators have supported me in discovering my own path. Whether it was starting a student-run newspaper at Christ the King Regional School or founding a finance club at Camden Catholic High School, my teachers have been there every step of the way. They consistently offer guidance and resources to support my growth and development. Their dedication is unmatched and showcases their determination to give every student a brighter future.
Teachers are just one half of the Catholic education experience. The students are incredibly talented, diverse, and encouraging. We work as a team to lift each other and build a strong community. The inclusivity of the student body has made me feel at home at Catholic schools from a young age. It is my dream to create the same welcoming feeling for future classes at Camden Catholic.
I am so grateful to all of you who support Christ the King Parish and, by extension, our local Catholic schools. Your support of donation drives, raffles, and school events, fuels the teachers, faculty, and staff who are making a huge difference in the lives of many. I hope you will continue to support Catholic schools and provide young students like me the chance to receive an education like no other. Visit ckrs.org to learn more, or take a tour after the 9:00 AM opening Mass of Catholic Schools Week on Sunday, January 25, and join us for a continental breakfast in the school cafeteria.
