Come and Rest Awhile

Have the pressures of daily life been weighing on you lately? Do anxious thoughts surface even in moments that normally bring comfort or joy? We cannot always choose the circumstances that bring hardship into our lives – but we can choose how we meet them.

If Eucharistic Adoration is not yet part of your regular prayer life, we invite you to consider making it so. Parishioners at CTK and faithful souls around the world have discovered that time spent before the Blessed Sacrament offers something the world simply cannot provide – a quiet renewal of mind, heart, and spirit, and a sense of peace that holds even through life’s most difficult seasons.

In 2023, sixteen of our dedicated weekly adorers generously donated to a chapel renovation fund, raising over $26,000. The renovation committee’s vision was straightforward: a clean, welcoming, uncluttered space where visitors could more easily still their minds and open their hearts to the Lord. Today, a statue of Mary greets you as you step through the entryway door, inviting you to spend time with her Son. Her pedestal – along with the devotional shelf – was crafted locally by hand, and the shelf holds handmade rosaries lovingly provided by our Rosary Ministry. Further inside, the radiant gold of the monstrance draws the eye immediately; it was refurbished in 2021 through the generosity of an anonymous donor. Those who pray here regularly have been moved by the beauty and simplicity of the updated space, and we are deeply grateful for everyone whose generosity made it possible.

We hope you will come and experience for yourself the stillness that Adoration offers. Pope Benedict XVI, in his 2008 letter for the World Day of Prayer, offered this reminder: “I would like to recall the priority of prayer over action since it is on prayer that the effectiveness of action depends. The Church’s mission largely depends on each person’s personal relationship with the Lord Jesus and must therefore be nourished by prayer.” May those words encourage you to make time for the One who is always waiting.
