Generations, Gathered in Faith

One of the great gifts of CTK is that living and growing in faith doesn’t belong to any single age or stage of life. As spring unfolds, most of our ministries are in full swing, journeying toward their final gatherings before Memorial Day – Walking with Purpose and That Man is You for adults, and Blaze and Strive for our youth. Each offers Christian formation through large group presentations and small group sharing, with Blaze and Strive meetings including additional fun activities. From middle schoolers to men and women in the thick of life, our parish gathers every generation around a shared desire to grow in faith.

While CTK is often thought of as a parish with a young, energetic pulse, our commitment to community runs the full length of life’s journey. Young at Heart exists precisely for that reason – welcoming any parishioner over 50 into a circle of friendship, faith, and genuine belonging. Don’t let the name fool you: many of our most faithful participants have decades of retirement behind them, and they bring a depth of wisdom, humor, and joy that enriches the entire group. This is a ministry that grows richer with every new face that walks through the door.

We were honored to host Deacon Joseph Janocha on April 9 – a visit that left us inspired and grateful. Mark your calendar for Thursday, May 14, when the talented students of CKRS take center stage with scenes from their spring play. It will be the kind of afternoon that reminds us why intergenerational community is such a gift.

Every gathering is anchored by a shared meal complete with homemade desserts that our members take genuine pride in bringing. But the hospitality doesn’t stop within our own walls. Each month, Young at Heart also gives back to the Sisters of Saint Joseph Neighborhood Center, extending our parish’s care into the broader community we are called to serve.

Whether you are a middle schooler finding your footing in faith, a busy adult somewhere in the middle of life’s journey, or a seasoned parishioner with decades of wisdom to share — there is a place for you here.
