Fr. Amer on left and Fr. Maseeh on right, are supporting Catholics in Pakistan and spreading the Good Word.
Christ the King Parish is pleased to support Fr. Waqar Amer and Fr. Farhan Maseeh of the Faisalabad Diocese in Pakistan, each with a one-year gift of $2,500 to assist their ministries. Both priests were classmates at Christ the King Seminary in Karachi, which coincidentally is the hometown of our parishioner, Chris Coelho, and were ordained together on August 29, 2022.
Both Fr. Waqar and Fr. Farhan come from humble origins and serve in communities that face high levels of abject poverty and discrimination based both on religion and economic status. They are grateful for our support and each will offer Holy Mass twice a month for the parishioners, clergy, and staff of Christ the King, Haddonfield.
In the town of Gojra, Fr. Waqar serves as Principal of St. Albert’s High School for Girls and Boys, Director of Our Lady of Fatima Boys’ Hostel, and Assistant Priest at Sacred Heart Catholic Church—all while pursuing studies in civil law. With sponsorship from Chris Coelho, he organizes computer courses for 100 high school and college students at St. Albert’s, helping youth gain vital skills. Promoting interfaith harmony, particularly among young people, is a big part of Fr. Waqar’s ministry, significant in Gojra, where tragic attacks in 2009 claimed the lives of eight Christians, including a child.
Fr. Farhan serves in the city of Faisalabad, overseeing the faith formation of hundreds of children in four sub-parishes. He is also an assistant priest at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, a visiting priest at LaSalle Brothers School and St. Raphael’s Hospital, and is the property manager of the Bishop’s House. He joyfully shared that on August 8, 2025, the Feast of St. Dominic, 200 children received their First Holy Communion, a moment deeply personal to him. It was at his own First Communion that he felt the strength of the living Christ and was determined to serve in a role where he shares daily the Eucharist with others, especially the youth.
Chris Coelho expresses gratitude to Fr. Jon for his openness and generosity in supporting these two young priests. To learn more, please scan the code to contact Chris.
Chris Coelho is a CTK lector.

As we prepare to celebrate National Vocation Awareness Week (November 2–8), let us keep all seminarians and priests in our prayers—and continue to support vocations at home and around the world through both prayer and generous giving.
