Sacraments, Legacy, and Love That Never Dies

On April 25, 2026, our family experienced a day filled with faith and love as two of our children received two beautiful sacraments. Our son, Leo James, celebrated his First Holy Communion, and our daughter, Francesca June, received the sacrament of Baptism. Both children carry names that honor generations before them, making the day already feel deeply rooted in tradition and the Catholic faith passed down through our family.

One of the most cherished parts of the celebration was Francesca’s baptism gown, which was lovingly made from her grandmother’s wedding dress. The gown itself began with another sacrament many years ago, the sacrament of Marriage shared by Francesca’s grandparents. Transforming that wedding dress into a baptism gown felt like a beautiful reminder of how the sacraments connect generations and how love continues to live on within our family. With her grandmother’s passing nine years ago and her grandfather’s passing four years ago, having a piece of them present with us on such a sacred day felt incredibly special and reminded us that those we love remain close to us always.

With both the loss of my parents and our son attending Christ the King Regional School, our family has been brought closer to Christ and found a renewed strength in our relationship with the Church. Our middle son, Finn, was also able to share in the joy of the day. It was special for him to witness his sister’s Baptism and his brother receive First Holy Communion while looking ahead to the day he will celebrate that sacrament himself.

The entire day was a true blessing for our family and a beautiful celebration of faith, family, and the traditions that continue to guide us through each generation.
