Seeking God in the Hustle and the Calm

Christ the King Regional School graduating Class of 2025

If you were around the CTK campus between May and June, we’re sure you experienced the hustle and bustle of year-end activities. May brought us our Parish Town Hall, multiple First Holy Communions, nineteen baptisms, four weddings, our first-ever candlelit rosary, and a parish movie night. We opened June with our second annual outdoor Mass and BBQ.

The outdoor Mass and BBQ was a true celebration of faith, fellowship, and parish life. It brought together the talents of our clergy, staff, seven CTK ministries, and the heartfelt support of the Knights of Columbus Marian Council 3784. As Bob Tulini, Coordinator of Liturgy, reflected on the 500 in attendance, “The outdoor Mass this year built on the quality of the experience and the number of people who attended. Our clergy, liturgical ministers, and volunteers are becoming more adept at celebrating Mass in a public setting. I believe more parishioners and visitors recognize that it’s a meaningful way to demonstrate our faith to the community and are availing themselves of the opportunity.”

Also in June was the CKRS eighth-grade graduation Mass. This year’s class of 40 students includes 36 who will continue to Catholic high schools—and together, they’ve been awarded $700,000 in scholarships. The CKRS class of 2021 is now venturing into colleges and universities across the country, including Notre Dame, the U.S. Naval Academy, UC Santa Cruz, Villanova, Lehigh, Loyola, Ithaca, Rutgers, and more. School tours are available by appointment throughout the summer.  More information can be found on ckrs.org.

As we turn the calendar to late June and settle into the slower rhythm of summer, many families are heading to the shore, taking road trips, and soaking in the sunshine. Still, we remain mindful of the many ways God presents us with daily opportunities to live out our faith. While Religious Education prepares for two summer sessions and a vibrant Vacation Bible School, our parish offices are also actively planning a new year of spiritual growth, service, and community engagement. As you enjoy the weeks ahead, we invite you to reflect on how God may be calling you to serve at CTK—and, if travel takes you away, to consider setting up online giving as a steady way to support our mission.

Wishing you a summer of rest, renewal, and grace.
