Amy Lynch with two of her English students at the SSJ Neighborhood Center.
For the past four years, I have been blessed to volunteer at the Sisters of Saint Joseph Neighborhood Center, primarily teaching English as a Second Language classes and occasionally helping with the M.A.M.I.S. (mothers and babies) program. My time at the Center has been eye-opening, joyful, and spiritually fulfilling. In short, I love it there.
Every week, I witness the Neighborhood Center’s mission in action. The Center provides educational programs, practical assistance, and compassionate support to individuals and families throughout the community. More importantly, it offers people dignity, encouragement, and a place where they feel welcomed and valued. It is truly a ministry rooted in faith and service.
As many of you know, Christ the King has chosen the Neighborhood Center as our parish’s local mission partner. This partnership allows us, as a parish family, to focus our stewardship of time, talent, and resources in one meaningful place within our community. I have seen firsthand the tremendous impact this support makes. Parishioners volunteer in many of the Center’s programs, while others donate needed items such as diapers, food, supplies, and household essentials. Each act of generosity, large or small, makes a real difference in the lives of the families served there.
If you have not yet become involved with the Neighborhood Center, I encourage you to consider doing so. There are many ways to help, and every contribution matters.
One great opportunity to support the Center is its upcoming annual Topgolf fundraiser on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Topgolf Mount Laurel. This fun and family-friendly evening helps raise critical funds to support the Center’s programs and services throughout the year.
There are several ways you can participate: First, Save the date and register to attend. Bring your family, friends, neighbors, or coworkers for a fun evening in support of a great cause. Registration info will be shared in June!
Second, consider becoming an event sponsor. Sponsorship opportunities are available at a variety of levels (from $125 to $2500) and include benefits such as logo placement, recognition in promotional materials, complimentary event tickets, and more.
Third, donate a basket or item for the raffle. Popular donations include gift cards, sports tickets, children’s items, themed baskets, and experiences.
For more information about the event or sponsorship opportunities, please visit https://ssjnc.org/topgolf-2/ or contact Amy Lynch at 215-565-6755 (I can pick up any basket donations.)
I hope you will join us in supporting this remarkable organization and the important work it does every day in our community.
