Come meet others, share experiences, deepen your relationship with Christ, and enjoy meaningful conversation in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere!
Are you Young at Heart? If you are a Catholic age 50 or older, Christ the King Parish has a wonderful opportunity for you to gather with fellow parishioners and friends for faith sharing, fellowship, and engaging speaker events.
The Young at Heart Ministry is a welcoming community that recognizes that growing older is not about slowing down – it is about continuing to grow in faith, wisdom, friendship, and service. Our gatherings provide an opportunity to meet others, share experiences, deepen our relationship with Christ, and enjoy meaningful conversation in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
This year, Young at Heart is pleased to offer an informative and engaging lineup of speakers who will share their knowledge, experiences, and insights on a variety of topics relevant to our lives and our Catholic faith. We are especially excited to begin our new season this October with a representative from Cathedral Kitchen, who will share more about the important work being done to serve those in need in our community.
Young at Heart gatherings will take place on the second Thursday of October, November, February, March, April, and May. Our speaking events will be held in Morgan Hall, where the parish will provide lunch and refreshments for everyone who attends.
Because lunch and refreshments will be provided, we kindly ask everyone planning to attend to RSVP one week prior to each speaking event by calling the Parish office. Your RSVP helps us prepare appropriately and ensures that there is enough food and seating for everyone.
Do you have questions or want to learn more? Please speak with our ministry leaders, Maryann Clayton or Sally Miller, when you see them at Mass or speak to any of the parish staff. They would be happy to tell you more about Young at Heart and answer any questions you may have.
Whether you have been looking for a way to become more involved at Christ the King, hoping to meet new friends, or simply want to enjoy good conversation and an interesting presentation with fellow Catholics, we invite you to come and join us!
And please don’t keep Young at Heart to yourself! Invite your Young at Heart friends from neighboring parishes to join us. There is always room at the table for another friend.
Come share your faith, enjoy fellowship, learn something new, and celebrate all that it means to be Young at Heart!
Michael Martin is the Director of Stewardship.
