Carrying on the Family Flower Tradition

The flowers are blooming and abundant, thanks to the kindness of the Riggs family. Each year, the family generously donates the flowers that beautify the church’s front lawn—continuing a tradition that started with Joe and Lola Riggs.  Dr. Riggs was a respected physician, avid sports fan, and enthusiastic gardener. He took pride in planting flowers, which was his favorite hobby. Lola and her family came out on a rainy day in early May to clean up the flower beds and plant over 60 impatients. Earlier that month, Joe and Debbie Riggs, Jr. brought us the new planters as part of the patio refurbishment. Since the installation of the comfortable furniture and the cleanup of the flower beds, one of our evening faith-sharing groups has enjoyed meeting in the peaceful outdoor space.  We invite you to hold your next ministry meeting on the outdoor patio, and we thank the Riggs family for their part in the beautification of our church environment.
