“A child is a gift from God, and this glorious day marks the beginning of a lifetime of faith, hope, and love. Last Sunday was blessed and beautiful as we celebrated Scarlett’s baptism. Loving family and friends surrounded us, and we were overjoyed to witness the beginning of her journey in faith. Thank you to the members of Christ the King for making Sunday such a fantastic day. Your love, support, and prayers mean the world to us. We feel truly blessed to have such a beautiful community cheering us on as we embark on this spiritual journey with Scarlett. With hearts full of gratitude and joy, we look forward to guiding Scarlett in her faith, surrounded by love and God’s grace.” -Julie Anne LoSasso.
In 2023, we baptized 121 children, up by twenty percent from 2019. Our growing community offers hope for the strength of the Church in the years to come. At CTK, multiple ministries participate in each family’s sacramental journey. Parishioners John and Julia Schanne lead our baptismal prep team, which meets with all first-time parents for one session on the first Wednesday of each month. At the end of the baptismal ceremony, each child receives a certificate, a baptismal candle, and a rosary handmade by our Rosary Making ministry. Yannire, a ministry member, said, “Making rosaries brings people together, promotes mindfulness, and provides comfort and hope to those in need.” See the website to schedule a baptism or to learn more about ministry opportunities at CTK.
